Event Details

The Public Data Corporation (PDC) is around the corner, and at the Open Rights Group, we're not happy about that. At least, as it currently is. Because while streamlining data prices and licenses may be an improvement for commercial organisations, it has nothing to do with open data.

It's not transparent and accessible to all.

So we think it's time to launch a campaign and ask the government to stop the u-turn by government on its commitments to open data.

Want to learn more? Discuss what we should do next? Or just jump into action?

Come along to our first supporters meeting.

Monday 24th October, 6.30pm to 9pm

We'll be having some great (expert) speakers on the subject, an opportunity to discuss the PDC and its problems/merits, and get more involved in ORG's actions and campaigns.

Open Rights Group

The digital age is transforming society: bringing us greater democracy, transparency and new creative possibilities. When these freedoms are under attack, the Open Rights Group is there to defend them. Founded in 2005 by 1,000 digital activists, ORG has become the UK’s leading voice defending freedom of expression, privacy, innovation, consumer rights and creativity on the net.

Getting into the political trenches in the UK and EU, we mobilise our supporters to stop bad laws. Working closely with other campaign groups, we lobby government and talk to the media whenever our rights are threatened.

ORG is a non-profit company funded by donors, mostly by people like you. We depend on regular contributions to run and win our campaigns.
